i am keeping away from my so called friends right now.
i need to make mommy friends or find people that are happy and don't live with douchebags.

in other news:

julian can walk backwards and thinks it's the funniest/cleverest thing in the world.
he asks for milk in sign language, can say "water" when he sees a bottle or glass of water and wants a sip, he says banana, and can recognize different animals.

amazing.

Taking care of a baby...

Is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I'm glad I'm doing it now when I'm 29 and not 39; I don't know if I'd have the energy to keep up with the little bugger.

He needs constant love and attention and makes sure that you know this.

I don't think my parents like when I ask if he can spend the one night with them on the weekends. It sucks because I really thought that they'd be all over it. But, I love and enjoy Julian so much that I would much rather have him with me at all times, than leave him at his grandparents house where they don't want him.

Posted via LiveJournal.app.

Stress is the word of the day

Julian's cutting teeth and hasn't been able to sleep through the night. I have to wake up with him 3 or 4 times. Jason complains about back pains so I can't ask him for help.
I just have to grin and bear it.

I have come to find that my once highly regarded friend is not what she seemed. I guess it is better to keep strangers at armslength.

Last weekend had some high points...
Shopped at Emerald's and found 4 articles of clothing that I was fond enough of to buy.
Attended a birthday party, then met up with an old friend.

Fin.

Posted via LiveJournal.app.

I'm getting a pedicure right now as I type, it is fabulous. It's been a while since I've gotten a pedi - NYC in may was my last. Boy have I missed the amazing feeling of a good long foot massage. It is so relaxing, it took any stress I was feeling and flung it out the window.

Sigh

Posted via LiveJournal.app.

Getting back at me?  Hrmph!

Today I did my hair and make-up just right, wore a power outfit, and was ready to take on whatever assignment Weston was going to throw my way. I open my email box and find that my boss had sent me a message with details on what I was to do today.

· Go to Suite 240 (upstairs, key on my desk, please don’t lose!) J \\ Take some file boxes with you – ask Allen if you can’t find any

· First small office to your right has extra furniture in it – there are cream colored filing cabinets that I brought back from our OKC office when we had to close it down in December. One of the filing cabinets may still be wrapped in paper – please unwrap.

· Please take all the files (keeping them in order by WON) & place into boxes to bring downstairs. You could also use a dolly so you don’t have to lift – they’ll get heavy.

· Call me on my cell (if I’m not here) if you have questions: 699.3288

· Once the boxes are downstairs, we’ll figure out what to do next.

  I packed 10 boxes of files!! And took them all downstairs in a dolly, all in shoes that aren't made for walking.

Wow, what a day...

Now off to finish my presentation for school later today.

Posted via LiveJournal.app.

Bad work day

I just started a new job last week and finally got a big editing assignment complete with a deadline. Each cell of the spreadsheet needed editing and u took special care with my editing to the point of cutting it into a word doc, editing, reviewing, cutting, and then pasting it into the designated cell. Somehow my editing did not "take" and as I flew through the assignment, I did not realize that the editing was not transferring from word to the spreadsheet. I should've gone back and double checked my work, but I did not have enough time. Needless to say I totally let down the owner of the document and then had to sit down with my supervisor to let her now what the he'll I was thinking not making ANY changes and looking completely unqualified for the job.

Fml

Posted via LiveJournal.app.

Siena

Yesterday we visited Siena.

It was very beautiful village; I don't think that term can be used in the modern age but it describes the feel of Siena. This place was medieval, in so many ways. There were flags with the Siena coat of arms everywhere, religious sculptures and architecture at every corner. It rained a lot while we were there and I'm glad that I have gotten into the habit of carrying my coat and umbrella everywhere, it's really helped me stay warm, dry, and comfortable (although I did wear flip flops on the trip).

I posted pictures on my multiply account. It's free to post as many pictures as i want on multiply - I'm not upgrading my lj account anytime soon.

but here is a picture to give you a taste of what I experienced:

Well, that's it for now...

YEY!

Jason's coming to Italy!
He's gonna meet me in Rome on the 20th and I am soooooo overjoyed!
I still can't believe it's gonna happen but he has already gotten the time approved by his boss and has sent me the itinerary. He'll be with me in Rome from the 20th through the 24th.

SIGH

~~~~~~~~~
So at this point I am totally sick, the kind of sick that has me coughing like I just took a hit from a bong and my lungs feel like they're gonna explode.  There's some green stuff that comes up after the coughing and it's really gross looking.  My body aches, my head hurts and I have no appetite. The appetite thing is good though because I live on the fourth floor in an ancient place that does not have elevator access.  Since I can't speak italian and my landlady is a royal pain about her stuff, I have to go out to buy food every day.  I have yogurt and cereal and stuff like that to get me through breakfast and dinner so I make lunch the biggest meal of my day.  I still get really nauseous if I eat regular food like the other day I had some penne dish with a creamy sauce that they cook with proscuitto and mushrooms and it took all my energy to keep it down.  At this point I'm just eating sandwiches, breakfast food, and gelato.
School's fine, my professor is an idiot and I hope he gets food poisoning (which I doubt he will).
I'll get into the whole professor thing later, my energy's waning and I have to walk back home and climb back into my tower.
byebye
~~~~~~

also, myspace is not working for me so send me emails at dzlgrrl @ gmail.com

not all bad but getting there

Coming home everyday from school I find myself at odds.
I don't want to get right into studying but I also don't want to lay down and relax because I'll fall asleep and I am really trying to save all my exhaustion for the night time when I am supposed to be sleeping. It dawned on me that I usually unwind with Tobi! When I get home from school in Austin, I come home and totally smother Tobi with attention and kisses. He's my mini boo...

Anyway, I have come down with a cold.
Isn't that just great?

My head hurts too much to really talk or type, etc...
I def wanted to get on here and update a bit.
Since I have no internet at home I have come to form a habit of updating an actual journal and not this virtual one. Oh, well, I'll update later.

luvyall

So, I'm finally settled in!
I've actually got my sleeping pattern down; it seems like everything is getting back to normal.

Now here are my peeves:

°The elderly couple I live with speak zero English or Spanish.
I seriously thought of buying an Italian language guide but decided not to because of the rest of my peeves.

°The old chick wants me to keep my room spotless. This means no books on the floor, my bed has to be made before I leave the house and none of the furniture can be moved. So, if I study in my room I have to keep all my stuff in check, I can't just throw stuff on the bed or the floor and leave to go to school - I HAVE TO TIDY UP. The bed, which I will be sleeping in for the next month and 2 days has to be made, even though I'm not sharing the room with anyone else - IT CANNOT REMAIN UNMADE IF I LEAVE THE HOUSE. As for moving furniture around, all I did was move one of the chairs closer to the full length mirror in the middle of the room so I will be able to straighten my hair and do my make up comfortably; also, it was easier for me to throw stuff in the trash can if it was near the desk instead of the far corner of the room - she insisted I move the chair back and even MOVED THE TRASH CAN BACK TO THE CORNER OF THE ROOM HERSELF WHEN I WASN'T HOME.

°This lady goes into my room when I'm gone! That really pisses me off, I don't like it one bit.

°I bought groceries since she does not provide meals, half of my fruit was gone the next day. WTF?

°Lastly, she does not allow me to turn on any lights during the day. My room gets hot when I leave the shutters open so I need the light to be able to see since there is no air conditioning; she said it costs money to use the light during the day and flipped the switch off herself while I was in the room.

Frankly, I am purposely resisting even the idea of learning Italian; she may have more stuff for me to not do and I'd rather remain ignorant of them. She suggested I buy an Italian dictionary on the first day and has asked if I've done it ever since. Hell no, I'm not buying a stupid dictionary. I can be so stubborn sometimes and this is one of them, but it makes me feel like I'm retaliating in a passive aggressive way. Her ways are really domineering and so I choose to rebel by not obliging her request for me to buy a tool that will help me better understand her.

Ha!

wits end

i am sooo tired.

i've been florence since the 22nd and i still can't get into a normal sleep pattern.
the past two nights i've spent tossing and turning until i finally in a frustrated and exhausted state, i get up around 3 am. i went to bed early the 1st night and i slept really well but i'd also been traveling for 16 hours without sleep so i'm sure that had some effect on my being able to doze as i wish i were dozing right now.

today i'm supposed to meet up with my "host" whom i will live with for 6 weeks, alas, he-she is not answering their goddamn phone. i've been trying for three hours to no avail. i'm nearing an exhaustion driven emotional state now, i want to sleep sooo bad. at this point, i'm sitting at an internet cafe with no agenda and not sure who else i should stalk, not really. i can't seem to find anything of interest, probly cos my brain is on auto-pilot. another side-effect of my condition is nausea, i am that tired.

can this get any worse? yup. i am lugging around, not one, but two pieces of luggage. i don't usually pack so heavy but i am going to be here for 6 weeks AND i have these two huge books for the two 3 hour classes i'm here for. not too mention the ever declining dollar; there's no way i can shop here, i'd be broke in a minute. just eating is an ordeal, i can't believe an effen sandwich, even at a cheap place, is $12 (8 euros = 12 dollars, right?)

i am so bummed out by the current circumstances. i could've been at home with my husband and dogs and am sure i would've seen the sex and the city movie in good ol' austin, then crawled into our amazing organic bed and slept until noon the next day if i wanted to...
oh, god, i need something positive to happen - and soon!

simply satisfied

so i'm almost done with my last 3 summer classes.
one more test, two more papers and a self portrait oil composition...

oh, i also go my new macbook yesterday and it is soooo awesome. The keyboard is different, much easier to use. The screen amazing, the clarity and color is much better and it is also much thinner than my ibook.

jason and i are doing great, we're trying to decide where we want to get married. we're combining our "wedding" and honeymoon. while we were at the hamptons for tim's 30th birthday, we met Chris a friend from New Zealand who raved about fiji. He thought it would be absolutely perfect for what we are thinking of doing this new year's. that's another thing, we're getting all vows or whatever done over new year's. that side of the world is not experiencing winter apparently. after coming home, we started looking at flights and for the two of us the flights come out to be close to $6,000. i don't think that's going to be possible, i am tired of traveling and i don't think i would enjoy the trip as much as i would've stayed home more, we've been on two big trips this year. i've got pics of the trips we've been on this year on our gallery...

anyway, that's it for now...we're going to theRadical Nautical Exhibit.

Byeeee!

xo
